Anybody out there know much about old evinrude boat motors? I need help Identifying(Year,HP) one me and my friend pulled out of the bottem of the local river(took both of us! He weighs about 285 or so and I'm about 210 or so). I reckon by the looks of things It was down there for the better part of 40 or fifty years. It is a Evinrude two cylinder motor. Air cooled I assume due to the small fins on the sides of the cylinders. Has hook ups for A tank and hose. It has a glass sediment bowl under the carb, The pull cord is on top and off set to the right side. Has a Big black knob in the center of the back side for adjusting the fuel mix? Two more small knobs for ? Lever that goes side to side for the throttle. Forward and reverse lever on the side. Thats all I know to tell you other than that It is blue. Maybe a Hammered finish? Not sure due to all the crud on it. It's not very often you catch a boat motor when your out fishing! LOL! Thanks for any help. Mike.
