The pickup bed is 8' long by 5'? wide, by 1.5'" deep, so that's 60 cubic feet, not excepting the wheel wells. So, that's just shy of 1/2 a cord, as you say, dumped in. Loose. Stacked is a different game. You can expect shrinkage of about 20% when you stack that wood. If you put a slight heap on the truck, you'll have 1/2 a cord, and a pretty good load on your average 1/2 ton truck. HTH.
