Show for Pay

Should Antique Tractor & Engine shows pay to have (Special Interest) items displayed at their shows. I will probably open a large can of worms, I would like to hear other prospective ehibitors ideas. Reasons not to pay, 1.What are the fairly applied guidelines for show items. 2.It is unfair to ehibitors who don't get paid. 3.If one or two exhibitors get paid, what about the one or two hundred who don't get paid. The term 'paid' should be reimbersed for expenses. "Reason to Pay' 1. If show is individually owned and ran for personal profit. 2. with $2.50 gas and $70 per night motels, the show can not expect a long distance exhibitor to display without at least helping with his expenses. 3. If a 'not for profit' show can help itself break even financially, it could invest in a special interest ehibit with the idea it would help them break even financially. "My personal ideas" I have displayed my "GOLD_LEAF_DEERE" at about Fourty shows in the last five years. Three of the shows or a individual connected with the show have reimbursed me with a motel room or about 1/2 of the gas bill to display. One of the large shows offered me $2500 to bring the Gold tractor to their show, I declined because I figured it was to commercialized to suit me. O K, What is your ideas on Show For Pay
