I have 2 tractors, one is a IH 140 that gets used about 5 or 6 times a year for about 30 minutes to an hour at a time. I also have a Ford 4610 which gets used a lot more but since I have quit farming it does not get used at all during the winter. I use it to bush hog and plant a few green fields for deer season. I know that I cannot go by the hours I put on these tractors for an indicator as to when to change the oil. How often, based on time and not usage, should I change the oil in these 2 tractors? I know there are a lot of collectors out there with many many tractors and I doubt they change the oil in all of them every 3 months or even once a year. I have been going with once a year for both, changing the oil and oil filter. Is there a synthetic oil I should use instead of the regular oil I have been using. I also have a 1997 Ford F-350 for a 460 V8 with 72,000 miles on it. I guess I have the same question for it since it has had 2000 miles put on it in the past 2 years. Thanks for any input.
