F250 non-powerstroke vs. newer gas engines.

Hi Guys,
I may be selling my 1992 F250 Diesel 7.3 liter IDI(non-turbo) (non-powerstroke) this fall and then in the spring purchasing a 1999 - 2000 Chevy K2500 with the GAS 5.7 or 6.0 vortec engine. It too would be a 3/4 ton. I'm wondering how these 2 vehicles would compare to each other in HP, torque, etc. I think that the newer a newer gas truck may put out the same HP and torque as my 1992 F250 Deisel? I belive the F250 puts out 175 HP? Of course gear ratios make a difference, I would look for a 4.11 rear-end (like the F250). I will use it to tow an empty trailer(3,000lbs) and also a loaded trailer which may weigh 11,000 lbs total. I only use it about 3,000 miles per year today.
ALso hauling in the bed of the truck up to 1200 lbs.
