I am a little partial to fords myself. I have a 96 F-350 with a powerstoke. I pull a 20" gooseneck with a 4020 on it no problem. Im not going to set any land records but pulling power is awesome. Have you considered looking at a newer ford diesel? They are al ot quieter and barely smoke at all. I also have a 92 350 that has a460. It is a total gas hog and gets around 8mpg with my gooseneck were my diesel gets12. ive had problems with my gaser and my local ford dealer said its because I don"t drive it enough.
