I have a 6.5 diesel in my 94 truck. IT IS A GREAT ENGINE. The injection pump is not the problem. It is the PMD, the little black box on the side of the pump. After a while they wear out because of heat. If you take it and mount it in a cooler spot on the truck you will have no problems with it. It ticks me off when people put down the 6.5 when it is one of the best diesels ever made. I used an old air cooled cylinder head to mount on my PMD to prevent it from getting hot, since I have had no trouble with it.
