HDX law-suit

I don't know if you remember, but Quaker State had a huge law-suit against them some years back - because of their HDX 10 weight. In our Deere shop, all our diesel oil was either Deere Torq-guard, or Quaker State HDX 10W or 30W. Winter use was straight 10 weight. Seems it was early 80s, there were trucks and tractors blowing up all over the country - all from a bad run of the HDX. They'd reach operating temperature, and oil pressure would go to near zero. We had to rebuild several engines with spun bearings - caused by it. We stopped using it after that - call it brand "disloyality." Personally, I've been using Rotella ever since. I'm sure it's not the greatest oil - but I've never had a bad batch.
