We used to use Mobil in the bulk for our oil changes because it was the best deal from our distributor. Mobil never made the claim that I know of but from personal experience and that of customers it would slow down or stop an engine from using oil. That is a great way to build business. Being in the business for 15 years I have come to the conclusion that it is more important to change oil regular than what brand to use. Since the goverment set standards for oil most brands are made to be just over the standard so there really isn't much difference in brands anymore.
