Cheap manufacture, cheap materials. A capacitor is a device which should last for years, unless it is subjected to over-voltage. I would think that a lot of the cheap junk parts supplied these days are not rated high enough, and so have marginal tolerance to high voltage spikes and thus a short life-span. I have only replaced a couple or so in my life and only once was it the capacitor that actually caused the breakdown. Regards, RAB
