That's the way we did it a long time ago also ( late '60's ) , a couple or three on the ground and one on top . Someone from the ground had to also drive the truck , a 47 IH 5 ton flatbed with a slant six and a caved in roof from all the bales that had fallen on it . That was near Columbus GA on my Gramdparents farm , them's some good memories ! A big watermelon feast at the end of the season with everybody , Sigh. ...Randy
