At minimum do a safty rebuild. I still have the old tower in my yard (Wheel has been gone for 60 years). Used to cary power lines. the bolts were rusting off so a few year ago I had them all checked and probably half of them replaced. so make sure the bolts and all irons are still solid and not weak rusted, my bolts literly rusted off and fell out leaving empty holes. At that time the legs were starting to rust off at ground level as well and to try to stop that we doug down around each leg and poured cement up to above the rust area and sloped it away from the legs to keep the water off the area that was getting bad. And From What I was told it was moved at one time about 20-25' from old dug well to new drilled one. Before my time and am 63.
