As allan says they are an excellent engine but i never thot they were all that noisy,,,but then im still living with a Norwegian so maybe a 466 just seems quite,,,,There work good in delivery trucks and tandems but some guys pulled pups or to big a loads with them and they will NOT take lugging--You lug them and they will dye...I got me a 1460 with a smaller CI ih engine,,same block though and she runs all day long at 2800 rpm and i know of nobody else out there that can stand them kind of RPMs...I have also always felt my 466 was very easy on fuel
