Unless you can get it for a few dollars, I wouldn't recommend you go after this item. For quite some time now, I researched the HDTV world as I wanted to get one for the family. Even in present day, I was amazed to learn that many TV's on the market are called HDTV but in fact they can only display an HD image. Basically they don't have a built-in HD tuner (ASTC type), but instead they only have an analog tuner (NTSC type). We almost purchased an "HDTV" but after reading page 4 of the TV's specs, I discovered that it only had analog capability-as far as receiving signals. Had we bought this one, we would also have to purchase an HD tuner in order to receive over-the-air HD signals. So--back to your question--I don't know the model # of the set you're looking at, but just by its 3-year age, I would guess that it may not have an internal HD tuner. Also, the rear projection units don't have the clarity of an LCD or Plasma HDTV. We ended up with a 42" Plasma and we really like it. In our area we receive about 25 HD channels and less than 10 analog channels. Also note that all analog signals will probably cease around Feb 2009.
