From what I remember of Dad plowing, we usually followed up with the disc... I remember with the 2590 going about 2mph and it seemed to fast on that broken sod! Once with the grain and then once diagonally... then the vibra shank and finally seeding.

Fall plowing gives the frost a chance to break up a lot of the chunks...

Used twisted spikes on the chisel plow a couple of times for breaking sod in the fall. I liked the way it turned out better with the plow.
