Gene that is excactly right. They outlawed metyhl bromide for weed control in plant beds, such as tobacco, but still use it on tomatoes to ripen them after shipping. They are picked green then treated with metyhl bromide to turn the skin red. It isn't safe to smoke it, but ok to eat I guess.
