I have a JD 1020 with 13.6 x 36 tires on the rear. The left rear tire has developed a leak where the stem of the tube passes through the wheel. The stem has a nylon nut that secures the stem against the wheel, but the nut doesn't completely cover the hole in the wheel (and maybe it's not supposed to). Tightening the nut and wiggling it around changes the sound of the escaping air, but never stops it completely.
Is there a way to seal the area around the stem of the tube so that the air leak can be stopped? I'd prefer not to call in the tire repair guy and have to pay a big bill if I can avoid it. Thanks for any help you can give. - CB
