Tarping a tractor

Until I get a shed or barn built, I've been keeping my JD1010 under a plastic tarp. But I've noticed on some days, there is alot of moisture buildup from condensation (especially after wet periods) under the tarp. I've seen alot of tractors just sitting out with no tarps. Is it better to just let them sit out with no tarp. They may get wet but maybe the condensation factor is less. Is a canvas tarp better than the cheap plastic? Anyone got experience or knowledge on this?
