There was a case in the not too awfull distant area of here that was unthinkable.They had have a dairy herd.Times were getting tight so the dad took a truck driving job and left the 20 somthing yr old son and same aged hired hand in charge.They let the milk cows get extremly thin and literly let the dry cows and heiffers starve to death.When the story broke they young fella checked himself into the mental hospital and was released from any wrong doing.They pulled over 70 dead animals out of their own frozen manure from one barn.Their quota is out on rent under a catastophy clause ,the cattle they did feed last summer were so thin and hungry they were seen breaking out of the field to eat grass out of the ditch.Their bunkers were plenty full all along with a plentyful supply of round bales on hand as well.This was total neglect and lazyness.To top it all off,some stupid banker lent them money to build a new parlour and now they are going to start milking again next month.If they were going to buy the mental anguish story,well fine,but why are they still allowed to house animals with no improvement of animal stewardship?peeved off,pd.
