Here's another non-tractor question but I know I'll get a good answer. We had a power surge last month and it knocked out the LCD clock and oven control on my stove and I went to the poor house repairing it. My computer survived somehow, maybe because I have a power bar but I somehow doubt it has much of a surge protector inside, it's a real cheap one. Anyways, I have since been switching off the power at the bar in addition to my machine when I turn everything off. I was told by a computer guy that you've got to spend a lot of money (like $75-$100 Cdn) for a good surge protector that really works. Also that a power surge will even get by the main power switch on an inexpensive protector, even if it's turned off. Any comments or suggestions ???
