Does anyone know how to stratify the pine cones to get the seed to grow? I heard they have to be heated, but how hot for how long. The cones I have were on the tree over winter & have opened up. Are the seeds still there or did they fall out? This is in Minnesota so it may make a difference as to which white pine it is. I tried google but it didn't say anything about heating. I know it takes a forest fire to get them to grow.
