When I asked at the local auto parts store ef they had any 10w, they said they never heard of streight 10w and looked at me as if I were crazy. After googleing 10w oil I can order it online, but read a post on another forum that suggested mobile one 10w-30 was very close if not identical to 10w oil.
Is 10w-30 motor oil ok to use for this aplication or should I keep looking for streight 10w?
I get straight 10 wt at Tractor Supply. Your local parts house should have hydraulic fluid which is basically 10 wt oil with additives for anti foaming and such. Check your manual but I think you want hyd. fluid that meets Deere JD20 specifications.
