You need to have a gunsmith look at it and also ask him what shells are safe to shoot in it and have him show you what to use and how to clean it.Long Rifle shells might work but you want to make real sure.If its alright to shoot then you need to keep it somewhere else besides in the rafters and clean it every 6 months or so whether or not you shoot it.You want to clean it before you shoot it every time it has set for a while.It doesnt take a lot sometimes for a gun to rust,some peoples fingerprints will rust stuff up bad.Once you get it where you can look at it,check it for rust often. One of those in good shape is worth some money.Its not worth anything if you cant shoot it.
