Any time you change the points or the point gap you HAVE to retime the engine. Use a timing light with the engine running and look for a timing mark on the flywheel, maybe inside a cover on the left side of the front of the flywheel housing part of the engine. That's presuming its a Continental engine. I'm not sure without looking up a manual where it is on the Perkins gas often used. The owner's manual would tell you those details. You need one. The I&T manual probably won't give those details.
