You should get some facts straight even if you don't like ZF or Deutz. Klockner Humboldt Deutz is and has been based in Cologne Germany for well over a century. ZF Friedrichshafen AG is based in Baden-Württemberg Germany, both is the western region... of what was at that time West Germany. There's nothing east bloc about either one, and in my opinion, nothing poor about ZF. I have little experience with Deutz generally other than to say that most of their engines in this area that were used in forestry gear and light compactors... and that type of stuff did quite well. The tractors never sold around here because of a lack of support but there are a few kicking around in spite of that and forthe most part, the owners I know are happy with them. Getting parts and support for them today is mabey not that difficult but you most certainly will have a long distance phone relationship with someone...
