I have a Ford 631 and might be moving to a larger farm where I'll need a bit more tractor. Probably hay work, maybe light plowing, etc.
I found a 961 workmaster that appears to be in pretty good shape locally and the guy wants $2,850. Below is what he says he has done to it. Do you think it is a good deal? Sounds pretty good to me. Haven't seen it in person but the photos look good. Thanks. ________________ 1959 Powermaster, 5 speed, live power, wide front. Replaced the brakes; vatted, boiled, and rodded the radiator; replaced the right lift arm; rebuilt the exhaust system; rebuilt the carb; installed new fuel lines. I used the tractor on my 80 acre farm baling hay, feeding my cows, and some tillage/seeding. I just finished turning, discing and seeding six acres of oats. The tractor ran fine but needs some minor repairs. I have put it in the shop now, replacing the alternator, rebuilding the steering pump, repairing the lights and replacing a couple of gauges.
