I never really look who else is bidding. I have my price in mind, and bid to that level. At public auction, that's the only fair way to do it. I don't think you guys are being very fair to the seller. He is offering his property to the highest bidder, and you are fixing the price lower. If a 'friend' got that pissed about losing an item to you at public auction, wasn't much of a friend! If he wanted it, he could have kept bidding. If he stopped bidding, his choice. You wanted it more than him - whether you knew each other or not, big deal. I realize it can be more complicated at times, but most of the time, that's how I feel about it. --->Paul
