Lost the stump jumper and blades on one spindle of my JD MX8 mower a couple of weeks ago with the mower in the air while turning around.....just did a spin in the dirt and died. Now if I would have been backing up, I might have lost a tire! Fortunately I just had the bolt come loose that held it to the gearbox shaft...can't figure out why it came loose....maybe hitting too many gopher mounds???
