A friend of mine has a Chevy, S10 Blazer 4x4 with a 2.8 engine and auto. transmission . He says that the motor will turn over , but as soon as the motor turns over a few times and starts to start , the starter kicks out. How hard is it to change the starter on this vechile and what tools and what size tools will I need provided that no one has changed anything on the starter ? Does this sound like the solenoid or bendix ? While motor runs the heads / head gaskets are bad as they have to add water ever so many miles . Yes , I know they need to junk it , but when it's all you got then it's all you got .Thanks for any and all help .
