Best thing used to be the smelt runs in April. Saw people taking 40 oil drums full out of there. Most people took at least a 30 gallon can full, including ourselves. When you get 50 or 60 coleman lanterns going on the shore at night in 60 degree water, that is a sight. Park used to run special trains for fisherman. Remote and beautiful. Really miss the smelt. Don't know why they stopped running. Used to clean as many as I could in 4 hours and give the rest away. Dave
