If it was used with low clutch pack pressures then the disks/plates in the pack are more than likely bad. You will not find too many power shifts that have small problems when sold. The original owners usually try the easy stuff and then ships it when he finds out the cost. I would drain the oil and look an see if you have any thing in the sump. Usually there will be some fines in the sump but not big pieces.
If the pressures are right and it is not pulling right it is inside the trans.
