We used to live up by Lake Superior, so I understand the feeling. Here in southern Missouri, we are getting a little taste of real winter. Not much snow where we are, but -4F tonight. If you believe the weather guessers, we should have temperatures around 60 by the middle of next week. This winter has been a bit colder than what we have had for the past several years. Usually I can duck out and squeeze in some soil prep in the market gardens throughout February if I time it right. Not this year! I'd like to get the ridges set up for our sweet potatoes by early in March. I am always TOO busy when the sweet potatoes need to be planted and they often get planted late. Otherwise, we are getting vegetable plants started indoors under lights and waiting for better weather.
