At the last meeting he started up his 50hp Landini by directing a propane torch at the cast-iron bulb in the front of the tractor. This raise questions in my mind. Question 1 - I know that some tractors like the Lanz Bulldog were started using ignition papers. Were these special papers or could any old newspaper or paper sack be used? Question 2 - Later models of the Lanz were started using cartridges. Were these cartridges like shotgun shells without pellets? Where did you get them? What is used now?
